History and Purpose:
The Monogram Club was organized in 1965
and has been in continuous operation since then. Our purposes are:
(1) To establish a scholarship fund to
assist qualified West Seattle High School seniors in pursuit of
a higher education.
(2) To perpetuate friendships made while
in high school in athletic competition.
(3) To reunite members in good
fellowship at "Dutch" luncheons on the first Thursdays of
February, June, October, and December.
|
Membership:
Membership in the West Seattle High
School Monogram Club is open to any and all varsity athletes
who earned their
W letters at
least forty years ago. West Seattle coaches with five
years of service are also invited to join. Women athletes
are especially encouraged to join the Club, as Title IX was
enacted into law in summer 1972 and many more sports were opened
to women.
